1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible Clone |
Currency is U.S. |
Here it is the chance to purchase the closest thing to a real 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible. Dubbed by the August 2000 issue of MoPar Collector Guide as "The Most Heavily Optioned '71 HEMICUDA Convertible." Recently was also the FIRST Clone Cover car and Feature for MoPar Action. As quoted from the August 2002 issue of MoPar Action as being "arguably the world's best clone of a 1971 HEMICUDA convertible." This is a TRUE CLONE CAR in the meaning of the word. The car is correct in every way possible, with either NOS or restored used parts and equipment. This is not, however, a modified car that has a crate hemi, incorrect pulleys, brackets, and other incorrect hemi car parts assmebled to represent something close to factory. This clone is exactly what you would have bought if you purchased this particular car in 1971. Minus the VIN and fendertag, this is the real deal. This is as close to the real versions of a Hemicuda Convertible you can possibly get at less than a third of the price. As it is impossible to have a 'perfect' car, this is truly the closest you can get. As with any car, there are small imperfections, but as shown with 2 national magazines separated by two years time, there are not many. This car is also an ISCA (International Show Car Association) national winner, taking 2nd place in antique restored with only five showings for the Western Division. Has numerous 1st place wins as well as Best of Show wins. Was also awarded 2nd place at the MoPar Nationals in Columbus Ohio, before the classifications were split. Has taken 1st place for it's class at every Houston AutoRama it has been entered in. Has also been awarded the Popular Hot Rodding award 2 years in a row. The car is also featured on the RubberSeal calendar for the 2003 nationwide, as well. This is not a simple paint and assemble restoration, but a complete rotisserie restoration. The original build of the car was a 318, 3 speed, convertible. The car now sports a highly detailed 1967 assembly date Hemi block, with 1966 heads. The intake is a factory inline 2x4 with 1970. Has stock exhaust, complete with pipes, mufflers and resonators with tips and a dual cut rear valance. Detailed Hemi 4 speed 18 spline transmission, complete with Hurst Pistol Grip shifter. Front suspension has all be powder coated and shows all correct factory paint daubs and markings, with the exception of ball joints, tie rod ends, nuts, bolts, etc., which have been sanded and painted to give it a very detailed appearance. All electric's have been rewired or repaired to function correctly with the exception of tape deck. It will run, but will not play correctly. The rear is a Dana 60 with 3:54 gears. It has been sanded and painted as well to show condition. The underside has been painted and detailed as well and is mint condition. The topand under side of the car is a base/coat clear/coat wet sanded and buffed to a high luster. All chrome has been restored to show condition as well with no wear showing at all. All brightwork has been straightened and polished and assembled correctly. All fuel and brake lines have been replace with stainless as well as all mounting hardware. All areas of the car have been detailed including truck with original jack, engine bay, interior, underside and hard to reach areas. Meticulous maintained with only 100 miles showing since restoration in 1999. There is more to be said for the car, but the pictures speak for themselves.
